So apparently that's the next Big Thing Microsoft intends on doing to alienate users. Essentially on new oem machines, you will be required to have DRM baked into your PC.
Hmm... I'd somehow never even heard of this thing until now, even though it has apparently been around for 10 years or so. Well... is this something that you'd have to deal with even if you do switch to Linux, given that it's a hardware thing? Well, assuming you buy a CPU or motherboard or whatever that has that shit on it, anyway. I'd always been using Intel CPUs and motherboards which support them and such, since that's what I was used to, but it might be time to consider switching to AMD, whenever I decide to buy a new computer at some point in the next 10-20 years or so (assuming AMD doesn't do/is forced to do something similar in the interim, and assuming that they haven't already done so).
