I've wanted to be a teacher since the fourth grade. I understand what you're going through. Part of me thinks that when I go to college there is a chance that I could change my mind. But that is what college is. Trying new things. Take my brother for instance. He's taking a criminal justice course this semester to try out something different. He doesnt exactly like the course but that's a different story. You dont have to choose a major right away. They give you time to think about it
( ... )
hmmm, well first of all you need to settle down with that little rant. honestly, everyone is going through that right now and everyone has those same choices. on average, the normal college student will change his/her major 3 to 4 times so what you're dealing with isn't new.
secondly, what if U of M isnt the best that this state has to offer. I know that a degree in teaching from Central Michigan hires at 95% of the time compared to Michigan's 80%....
what if the best of the best dont attend michigan. what if under-privileged minorities attend Michigan because their "point-system" makes it easier for them to get in while students with much higher test scores don't make the cut. what if 17% of the student body are on Athletic Scholarships, and 75% of those people are under-privileged minorities.
Oh and by the way, no one is holding you back from going there and no one is preventing you except for yourself and your slanted viewpoints.
it sounds like you're arguing with yourself and losing :-/
hey kid, maybe before you start insulting me for venting you should grow some balls and leave a name when you comment.
and you have no idea who could be holding me back, or whether or not my viewpoints are slanted. and dont tell me to calm down, i'll calm down once i've vented to someone who isnt going to react like you just did. dont give me effing statistics. i dont want them. statistics dont mean jack shit to me when it comes to making decisions like this one. its all about the gut instinct.
