It is very shocking and wrong to think these riots are happening here.... :(

to me its not entirely shocking about people feeling that way about immigrants in general within Australia, I think for me it had to be the way people worded things sometimes that got me thinking...but the riots I never would've saw comming, I think in some twisted warped way its a "good" thing because it brings the issue to light, and in that is the only way to move forward

I couldn't agree with you more. For the first time in my life, I'm ashamed to say I'm a Aussie. :-(

I would've thought it a bit ironic if their had been riots like expected in LA when Tookie Williams was executed yesterday while all this stuff has been going on in Sydney... but the death penalty in itself is enough to get disgusted over...every country has there shit, the best way to get over it is by not agreeing with it and voicing your oppinon!

Yes! I live in Langwarrin, which is the next suburb to Frankston, but I work in Frankston.
We are about ten or fifteen minutes from the beach, so I love it! ;-)

I read some of your entries and noticed you lived in Melbourne for a while. Where were you living? Did you like our city? :-)

I've got family in Cronulla... my cousin's friend (who's Australian-born Greek) has been abused so much by their neighbours, they've left the state and gone to live in SA until it dies down.

I thought the riots were bad enough, but this is effing rediculous... >_

are u serious? and how the hell can you tell if someones Greek? Ive never understood that, since Greeks are white themselves, that is so horrible.

I can tell, only because I work predominately with Greek (my boss and manager are both Greek, and a lot of my bosses' patients are Greek as well)

The stupid thing is... he doesn't even LOOK Greek. His sister's have blonde hair and stuff. But I suppose his neighbours would know their surname and that would be a givaway *shrug*

It is horrible though.

ah i know that, like if anyone has an accent different from your own then its easy to tell their not from around their. Its like my first roomate Tony was Italian, like his family was from italy but he was born in Aus. He is white with dark hair and light blue eyes, short and what not, but anyways he said he use to get made fun of and called a wog... i never understood it...but yah...I guess its just different where I live, white is white, brown is brown and black is black, we dont really distinguish between ethnic background because more people are mutts here....me---> mexican, portugese, hawaiian,spanish...ive been called caucasian, indian, native american...
