if you flip it upside down, it looks as if the tree is growing on a hill. also--- the tree cuts straight through to the centre of the tombstone. (things i've noticed after getting it developed)
stark indeed. i was on the motorbike with my father, we were riding through the last bit of snow in the area, and i tapped on his shoulder to stop so we could have a look around the grave site. quite a sombre place, really.
I don't think they are cliche. I haven't seen many tombstone photos in a while actually. I particularly like how the tree is cut-off at the top and reflected in the water. The tones in this are very nice. We'll have to swap photos (winter break is coming up and I'll have time to actually do this stuff.)

It makes me feel stark in the best ways.

You drive me into thinking about getting a new camera and start shooting pictures, that are not good for memories, only... well.. maybe I'm dreaming.
Anyways.. first thing I'll do is add you, hope you don't mind, hopefully in near futures I'll come up with a few (good) pictures myself ;)
Thanks for your inspiration.
