you think that I want to be understood

Just watched the They Might Be Giants documentary, Gigantic: A Tale of Two Johns that my Ibbums recorded for me.  I was not aware that They Might Be Giants wrote and recorded the theme for The Daily Show.  Were you?

If I didn't have my moopet, John Flansburgh would be my dream man.

They Might Be Giants just make me happy. If only I had discovered them earlier in my life. They and the Refreshments are the only two more recent groups that I know anything about. . . Oh and Cake.

Have you seen the documentary? It is so freaking fantastic.

I went to see TMBG around my 21st birthday in New Orleans - it was the best birthday present I ever gave myself. The live version of "Fingertips" rocked my face off so hard that I still haven't gotten it all back.

Have you given Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers a listen? Roger Clyne is, of course, the lead singer of the Refreshments, and the Peacemakers are his current group. They are el fabulicious o amazing. Send me your address and I will make you some cd's!

Cake will always make me think of senior year in high school, driving around in my antique car and listening to "Italian Leather Sofa". Beautiful.

I saw part of the documentary. A friend had Tivoed it for me, only to find a huge chunk missing because of her roommates saved programs. . . of course its her roommate's Tivo. As for the Peacemakers, I will most definately be looking for them the next time I allow myself to purchase CDs. Thanks!

Somehow I missed Cake in high school and only discovered them my sophomore year at Millsaps. *shrug*
