When I moved into Oxford in 1980, the cost of a bus journey from the nearest stop to the city centre was 18p. No, that's not a misprint. Eighteen pence.

Today that same journey costs £1.80. Ten times as much.

when i moved into oxford in 1880, buses didn't even exist! young people these days...

wikipedia told me the first bus in oxford was 1881, i think the anniversary was 2006?
