Lovely, achey fic, with the sex-that-isn't-great-because-the-hurt's-too-much, and release (orgasm, tears) as something that has to be worked at because the bottle's corked so tight. I love this pairing, especially done in a quiet, grown-up way like this. With the USTy pairings underneath it, extra owwwch. And Jack's How could Daniel have thought there was nothing here for him? is so heartbreaking in this context, the way he's thinking it. Great job.

I almost never write het--and the last het porn I wrote was an angsty little ST-TOS thing, part of my K/S/ofc series, that was really a slash piece in disguise. (Oh wait, I forgot, there was an X-Files M/Sc drabble suite, but--no, only one line was even remotely porn-like.) The sad/achey/heartbreaking thing, though? Right up my alley. Suffering is so much more interesting to explore than happiness, don't you think?

Oh ouch. Nicely done - I'll confess, t'was my prompt and this was kinda what I had in mind since while I have a secret kink for Jack/Janet, I can't actually see them doing it unless out of despair. You made it hotter and more heartbreaking than I ever could, though! Yum.

I'm so glad that my story pleased the generator of the prompt! I hardly ever write het, but the prompt was a good trigger and the story actually came together, for me, quite quickly (usually, grass grows faster than I write). I also can't see Jack/Janet together, usually, except as they might be drawn to one another in extreme circumstances. Thanks for the feedback!
