A reminder of the dates for the upcoming porn battle:
Prompts: Monday 25th - Friday 29th July 2011
Battle: Sunday 31st July - Sunday 7th August 2011
As ever, if you want to refresh your memory about how it runs, you can check out the
Porn Battle tag, or
the website. And pimp buttons are
here. Any questions that aren't answered there or in the
FAQ, ask here, but please read the info posts and FAQ first.
As in previous years, I've set up an archive on
AO3 for optional extra archiving/reading/searching purposes. Artists and vidders can also post there; there are more details on the FAQ. I'll open the
latest archive as soon as the battle starts on Sunday 31st, and in the meantime, if you want to archive older Porn Battle works,
all the past archives are open.
I have several account invitations for AO3, so if you're planning on participating in the Porn Battle and want to archive your entries at AO3, leave me your email address in the comments and I'll get back to you asap. If you'd like a Dreamwidth invite, leave me your email address (and a note that you're after a DW invite), or check the comments for offers. If you have AO3 or Dreamwidth invites to share, please leave a comment and tell people how to contact you.
I'll be getting in touch this week with the usual volunteers and everyone who's volunteered over the last month or two.
EXTRA NOTES/DIFFERENCES FROM PREVIOUS BATTLES:
1. The prompts will be a little late opening this year, as I'm out all day Monday (bad timing, I know) - I will open prompts as soon as I get home, but that will probably be the early hours of Tuesday, UK time.
2. There won't be a Chromatic Porn Battle this round. Hopefully that will be set up and organized for Porn Battle XIII in January 2012.
3. Having trialed grouping all the comic/comic related prompts under DCU and Marvel, I don't think it worked as well as hoped, so I'm going back to separate categories for all the comic related fandoms. If you could use the same fandom names as
AO3 does, that would be a huge help when it comes to sorting them logically - thank you!
Start planning your prompts!
