Jack slams the door of his truck and wends his way across the parking lot, through the eclectic mix of trucks, motorcycles, and high-end sports cars. He comes here every now and then; not often, but sometimes when he wants to get away. The bar's clientele is as mismatched as the vehicles in the parking lot, odd enough to make things interesting. Brenda rolls onto her stomach, tugging at the sheet twisted around her body so that her exposed backside will be somewhat covered from the chill in the hotel room. She should follow Sharon’s example and get dressed, but this is part of the routine-Brenda always leaves last, though originally not by choice. She thinks it’s a control thing for Sharon; leaving first means she has some semblance of power, means she doesn’t have to watch Brenda make herself presentable enough to go home to her husband. Now, Brenda has come to enjoy the routine, because she can watch her Sharon hidden away beneath the layers of Captain Raydor.
“You’re staring,” Sharon announces, and Brenda’s lips form a cheshire cat grin.

Sometimes Peter wishes that he were the one in this relationship with the artistic talent...
Photographs document a life, but Neal has opened Peter's eyes to the ways in which art can capture it. No photograph can truly translate the arch of Elizabeth's throat, her head thrown back in passion, or the softness of her skin, onto paper. The curve of Neal's lips around the tip of Elizabeth's breast... the sparkle in his eye as he grins up at Peter from between Peter's legs, are so much more evocative on a canvas.
Thanks to Neal, they have a dozen portraits, at least, of the three of them in various combinations; more, of just Peter and El, separate or together. Peter knows, from Neal's art, what the breadth of his own shoulders - the span of his hands on his wife's hips - look like through his lover's eyes; Neal's sketched almost every part of them. He sees the love Neal feels for El in Neal's many paintings. Neal's regard for the woman in their lives is so obvious in his brush strokes that it's practically its own pigment.

Chris smiles, "think I'll stay on team human for now. It doesn't hurt too much any more."
Moving up from the purplish yellowing skin, he brings his hand to Chris' hip and brushes across it with his thumb.
"I'm fine you know."
"That you are," says Isaac with a grin.
"You know what I mean. I'm fine, I'll heal. You can touch it again, press on the bruise if you want. Victoria used to..."
"Are you really trying to get lucky by telling me what your wife used to do?"
"Says the man dating his ex's father."
Isaac kisses him quickly. "Point taken."
His fingers find the bruise again and he presses lightly on the edges making Chris hiss.
"Do you like it?"
