this is so so good. I love your Mike character, and the pace of this, this whole story has been marvelously paced, even for how long it's been. Your descriptions of Mike and William and Mike's perceptions of William are beautiful and spot on perfect.

...and OMG i just realized you said you were posting the last chapter tomorrow, and i think i'm going to die because i'll be internet-less all weekend.
