The four or five months old tyre on my bike wheel is so worn that the tube is poking through.

I've snapped three tyre levers trying to remove it.

The tube has adhered to the tyre, the tyre has adhered to the rim.

I don't have any levers left. My patience is almost gone too; hacking the tyre and tube to pieces is the next step.

Heat the metal bits over a flame, the heat conducts down and around the metal - should make the plastic elastic enough to peel off with minimum force.

(I was probably too late, you've probably already done something about it).

Oooh, thanks, I'll remember that for the next time. I ended up using a combination of plastic clothes pegs and a wrench to finally prise it off. Luckily the tube wasn't damaged in the process, because I would have been too far cranky to mend it.
