Can one make citizen's arrests under Australian law? ;-)

That's a good question, I have no idea! Which probably means the answer is "No", but I should find out for certain...

The Commonwealth Crimes Act of 1914 Part IAA Div 4 §3Z provides for citizen's arrests in cases of violation of federal law. NSW, Queensland, and South Australia have state laws providing for citizen's arrests in cases of violation of their laws.
