Tomorrow is officially my final week at work.  ::gasp-second-thoughts::

Now I have limited funds and no career prospects promised to me.  I applied to three more jobs today.  I'm sensing a pattern here.  I also spoke with someone at Starbucks and asked how much working there sucked.  She said not so much so that might be my part-time wage-slave plan ( Read more... )

That's great you had a captive audience for your reading! Definitely remember that when you're feeling down about it.

Job-wise, I think it should get easier once Christmas and New Years are over - after all, pretty much no one is hiring right now, but once the holidays are over, things should get back to normal, and hopefully you'll find something then. Apparently Starbucks isn't so bad to work at either; they provide health insurance to their employees, which is pretty nice. Maybe that's why their drinks are so pricey... ;) And just think, if you work there, you don't have to buy coffee anymore!

Awww, you gave your first [semi-]public reading and I wasn't there to record it for all posterity (aka: TheWeave.net)! I shall never forgive myself. And I'm glad that China seemed so enthralled with it... it's one thing to have college friends and adults tell you they adore your story, but it's not really about OR for them, is it?

I sense a dedication coming on... (and not just the one to myself, haha.)
