Hi Everyone,
Well I'm sorry for not updating in a while.
What a day. Whew, I'm glad it's over. So now here I sit, in a quiet house, with a cool evening breeze coming in the kitchen window. The wind chimes softly ringing in the night, as I sip my hot tea, and think of my day, as I write it out for you.
I guess I should start with last week. I was very sick with the flu. I was also worried about my appendix flaring up. As I was having sever pain on my right side. I also was feeling like my back was out of alignment. So on Friday, I wanted to go see my chiropractor, Doctor Mike. Doug took me down there, and so we both had an adjustment. Well I never felt so much pain when I've been adjusted by Doctor Mike. I was actually screaming out from the pain! Poor Mike... he was being so gentle too. Anyway, he told me to stop being so stubborn and to Grace Hospital's emergency.
So off we went to Grace. Argh. I thought for sure I'd be hanging out in the waiting room all ruddy day. Surprise, surprise! I got put into a bed only after a half hour, and saw a doctor an hour later!
Even so... after a nice big shot of morphine, a blood sample, then an x-ray, another big shot of morphine, and oh, can you pee in a cup? Yet another test... an x-ray with a injected dye into the IV, to see if it's the kidneys.
So the good news is it's not your appendix or your kidneys, the bad news is: sorry we can't find anything wrong with you. Oy Vey! Phone on Monday, and schedule an appointment with your regular doctor, have her send you for an ultrasound, to see if it's your ovaries again.
Right.
So 10 hours later, I'm finally at home, in my own bed, after eating a couple of toast, with a nice hot cup of tea to help the 2 - T3's go down. At least he, Dr Terrence Bergmann gave me a doc's note to excuse me from work for the entire time off so far from work, plus ... until Thursday, as well as a prescription for pain killers.
Well today I phoned the Dr. J. Kredenser at the Heartland Clinic to see if I could talk with him about the situation... no... but can you come in for 3:15 today? Of course! So Doug and I, go see the good Dr. K... he does an ultrasound right there in the office... and the good news is: it's not your ovaries giving you this pain. Phone your regular doctor. Gee thanks doc!
Well now, Doug's brother's wife had this nasty little flu... and she is on serious antibiotics for a intestinal infection! Good grief.
I thought getting old was going to be a "graceful" situation. *big sigh*
On top of that, I've been working on finishing up the bathroom. I just down another T3... and DAMN THE PAIN! I got to say, it's looking - the bathroom that is - really good! The tub front was still open, so this past two days I've been sawing up a piece of laminated chip-board to fit. Then dry fitting it, painting the raw edges... to keep the chip-board from becoming chipped from water expansion. After all that, finally screwing the board into place and siliconing every thing in sight!
All week long I've been having "bird-baths" but tonight I was able to have a bath for the first time in a week... hehe... I really needed one too - poo-whee! Nothing so wonderful as a tub full of hot sudsy water to make a girl feel all relaxed and content. *big sigh*. I shall sleep very well tonight!
So ends my day. With a nice chat with my dear friends, and a hot cup of tea.
Hope this email finds you happily healthy! After all that's the real wealth in life.
Annie
