They tallied my hours on call plus my hours taking calls on uncovered shifts and came up with 72 hours for the first 3 weeks of January. I think I covered almost 1/3 of the total calls in that time. And with the fibro, it about killed me.
FWIW, at the one year mark now, I have driven over 160 calls (not entirely sure how many any more), responded to perhaps 50 more without driving for various reasons, joined a local fire department, and put in an average of about 15 extra hours per week on squad business. I'm frustrated that I'm on SSDI and my family lives on food banks, food stamps and SSDI plus unemployment and we barely scrape by, and the squad won't buy me a pair of Magnums to replace my now worn-out ones, but we can't have everything, I guess...
