As noted by a 20-year EMS provider who commented on the WPIX page, in New York an injury auto accident always has FD as Incident Command. That means the police provide their resources to the FD and the Incident Commander (who would have been the chief in this case), and they take their orders from the Incident Commander. Period.
This could earn the NY State Police a Federal rebuke for violating US Incident Command System protocols. And I hope they get their pee-pee whacked. Talk about unprofessional behavior, regardless of whether the cop felt insulted or "threatened" by not being the big gun on scene.
