What's the deal with Moleskine notebooks? I mean, what's so great about them? Tell me. Am I missing out? They remind me of the water trend of 2002 (and on), and the disdain I had for Nalgene bottles at the time. Can I at least run over a Moleskine product with a school bus without putting a dent in it ( Read more... )

I don't know if the Moleskine notebooks are exceptional or anything, they're just kind of tastefully understated and solidly constructed, when the vast majority of available notebooks are gaudy crap. I hadn't thought about how nice the paper is, but I suppose it is kind of lovely. Try one, you'll like it!

I actually just bought one (like thirty minutes ago, if you're interested) and it is nice. It's a good, portable size, the paper feels fancy, it's got the strappy rubberband business plus a bookmark and THE POCKET AT THE BACK! Oh man, the pocket sold me.

Now I'm just afraid I'll think it's too nice to actually use.

That's basically how I feel whenever I get a new one, but then I remember that they're, what, like $15? Plus the more you have, the better. A bunch of them on a shelf will make you feel like the serial killer in that movie Seven.
