Hello, This is Day 0 of my workout, and all I'm doing is taking my supplements today for tomorrow's workout and better health. I'm 6' 3", heavy build (270 lbs of fat, muscle, and water weight) and I want to better myself physically and mentally. Thanks for watching me and I hope that you give me support as I work through this program.
Last week got bombed because I started working weird hours and had a lot of stress from people that I continuously missed my workout routines and messed up my diet. Now I know that I have to get a food journal so that I monitor what I eat. My problem is that when I start eating something unhealthy, such as a candy bar or fast food, the rest of my day will be to continue this binge of eating unhealthy food until I'm full. When I binge, it spikes up my sugar intake and calorie intake and I just stay the same weight. So far, I've done well with cutting out soft drinks from my diet entirely, only drink water and milk, and seldom 2/3 calorie cran-grape juice. Well hopefully, with support from this journal and keeping a food journal, I'll curb the binges that I usually get and be more conscious about my free time to manage my workouts wisely.
My goals for this week is to get out of bed by 8:00 am and start working out to the P90 program that I bought from Tony Horton's website. After that, take my supplements and drink a protein shake to recover from my workout. eat small snacks throughout the day, such as plain almonds and fruit, and have a salad every lunch and dinner with a side of grilled chicken breast.
I have my days set up that every other day I'm either doing Cardio or strength building, according to the P90 program. Also, on every strength training day, I ride my bicycle to work. on every cardio day, after I finish doing cardio at home, I jog/walk progressively until I'm able to jog without stopping to walk for 30 minutes. Right now, my goal is to run for 2 minutes and walk for 3 minutes after that, and do that 6 times so I'll reach 30 minutes of run/walk time altogether.
Also, the Supplements I took today for tomorrow are the following, and also plan on taking everyday:
- Multivitamin/Multimineral- 1 dose daily every morning meal- obvious reasons and that i certainly don't get a balanced meal everyday.
- Fish Oil- 1200 mg- 2 doses, once in the morning and evening with meal- helps my immunity system, due in part that after working out, your immunity is usually pretty weak because it's collecting debris of torn muscle tissue, etc. also reduced inflammation that I'll experience when I run and work out too hard.
- Ginkgo Biloba- 60 mg- 3 doses, one every meal- thought not exactly proven, it helps improve memory and brings more oxygen to the brain. doesn't hurt to take this.
- B-100 Complex- 100mg of a lot of Vitamin B's- 1 time release dose every morning- B-vitamins help convert food to energy more effectively, helps brain function at optimum levels and aids in stress relief, healthy skin, eyes and hair, promotes muscle tone in your gastrointestinal tract, and supports the immune system. Vitamins are water soluble and pass through the body quickly, which is why I take a time release capsule.
-Vitamin C- 1000mg time release capsule every morning meal- aids in tissue repair, immunity, and is an antioxidant. helps absorb iron effectively well (which in turn helps reduce bruising and oxygen intake) also produces folic acid, for whenever I need that extra boost when I don't take it enough oxygen
Coq10- 100 mg (expensive mofo), one every morning meal, preferably with almonds, due to it being absorbed through fat better- antioxidant, and produces energy in every cell of the body. has anti aging effects, increases tissue oxygenation, boosts heart muscles.
Garlic tablets- since I don't own a kitchen and the chow hall doesn't put garlic in it's food, I take it to enhance my immunity as well, helps reduce the chance of cancer, and reduces high blood pressure and cholesterol.
That's a lot of pills that I'll be taking on a daily basis, and I honestly hope to make the best of it and that my kidneys can handle it. I know most of these are good for you, it's just that I heard if you take too much vitamins, it'll form deposits in your kidneys and end up having kidney stones, which I DO NOT WANT. so I'm taking them with moderation, of course.
I know this entry is a bit long, and hopefully the next journals I post wont be long and boring for ya'll. Let me know what I need to do to work on and improve, so that you guys don't see future journals as boring and just roll your eyes at the wall of text. Tomorrow I'll be posting pictures of myself without a top on, as a "before" picture, which will help motivate me and improve my physical fitness.
