Chicago Pics - Part 2

Dec 20, 2009 21:55

I adore water features, luckily for me, Chicago offered plenty. Some of them were better than others, but I'll let you be the judge.

In this set of photos, you will get more of an insight into Chicago, the City, its architecture and its beauty.

WARNING: Image heavy. Sorry.

My rule of thumb is that it's okay to embarrass yourself on holidays. I swear I was having more fun than the kids. I had truly never seen anything like it. I wish my city had a fountain that cool.

Awww.. I forgot ER was set there until you mentioned it. If you ever come to the US, please visit, you'll enjoy it very much.

Wow, they really love their fountains, don't they? Lol. They are so beautiful and you guys did look so refreshed after getting under the water :)

I adore that building that reflects the river, so beautiful. And the art feature fountain is an amazing piece.

Ok, off to post number three ;)

We had a lovely time. It was great exploring a new city together as neither of us had been there.

This totally reminds me of Blade Runner.

Indeed. It looked a bit out of place in Chicago I must admit. Very cool, nonetheless.

LOL. I wish I knew. :-) Chicago people really love their water. Luckily for the environment the fountains use a continuous water cycle so nothing goes to waste! The design of this city is breath-taking. I was their town planners to come to my city and make it look pretty like Chicago.

Aren't the fountains fantastic? I planned lunch (when the weather was nice) to eat by one and you found out there are a LOT of them around town. It's was such a refreshing break from the heat. The picture you have of the Wrigley building (tall white building with the clock on top - 8th from bottom) - you took this picture standing in front of one of the buildings I used to work in - on the right. :)

The fountains are fab! They just add so much to a city and not only do they look pretty, they are social meeting places and lunch hang outs as you mentioned. There can never be enough fountains in my opinion.

:-) That was very coincidental. I don't have any pics from the magnificent mile but I loved that end of town too. In fact, all over. A clean, modern, bustling city. Fabulous.
