RECENT EVENTS kinda prompted me to do this. Ask anything about Oz (his actions/relationships/why he did that thing he did/etc). You can ask for drabbles too.
a) Most of Oz's feelings on Alice are instinctive and often irrational. He KNOWS she tricked him into the contract, but he trusts her. When she's sad, he despairs as well. PRETTY MUCH WHAT RETRACE 20 stated, their emotional states are linked. So, Oz does his best to keep her happy because when she's happy, he's happy and really, her happiness means more to him than her own.
b) He needs her, possibly on the same level he needs Gil. She is simply that important to him. He considers himself as her protector or someone he must protect no matter what happens. That...often leads him to do stupid things like checking out dangerous people so that he can keep her away from them. HE KNOWS that she's capable of taking care of herself, but like I said, his feelings on her are irrational

Oz and his not being quite sane. Your thoughts on it, his thoughts on it if he recognizes it in himself, how it came about on a mental level, and anything related.
Yes, it's broad. ...No, I don't know how to narrow it down.
You can take your time with the rest, but gunning for some clarifications here. You do not let me into an essay meme srsly.
1.1) Even though he's in essence killed himself with the contract, Oz wouldn't do anything close to suicide in your mind, correct? Also, considering the contract, does he think he's using his life to a useful end considering it's for Alice's sake and follows that path in essence or is Alice and the contract completely separate from his life/death wish?
2.1) Take this outside of Oz's POV for a second since you're his greatest observer. Is Oz truly fake? Or is he lying to himself and has wonderful brief bursts of real because of real people? Since he can feel warm and fuzzy, it almost seems like he can be, to others if not himself.
1) I think the contract simply coincides with his life/death wish. He does think he's using his life to achieve an end (and that end is to help Alice regain her memories). This course of action (and he's aware of this too) will also help him understand what happened that day, the Baskervilles etc, but primarily, he's thinking of Alice and that objective. Everything else is simply fate (which he states in the end of volume one that he thinks things were MEANT to happen like this

Oz really looks up to Sharon in the way he doesn't to Break! She's the woman he wanted to marry and there are some hints of that crush there. But mostly, he knows that she will look out for him and she will worry for him and that...makes him uncomfortable, so he won't go to her for advice, except in those few times when he's genuinely confused and she tops him into it.

"So, what's that one called?" Ari points to the cookies set neatly on the table.
"Ah, those are the butter orange mint cookies," Oz says cheerfully, promptly snatching one off the table and nibbling on it, "Help yourself."
Ari tentatively reaches for the cookies and takes a small bit.
"...It's nice," he says with wide eyes. Oz chuckles and stealthily wipes some of the crumbs off Ari's mouth with a napkin.
"I told you Gil was an excellent cook," Oz says, smiling, "Now, this is the Tiramisu...."
Ari wasn't sure of all the desserts and their names, but he smiled anyway as Oz rattled off their qualities. He took another bite of his cookie.
It was good.
