some people just have no idea - i recently applied for a job, but indicated that i still work casually and was looking for something a bit more concrete, i was supposed to go in yesterday to meet with them, they sent me a message on friday reminding me and then a message yesterday reminding me and then a message this morning wanting to know what ( Read more... )

i could, but this involves calling on my mobile = expensive. They don't seem to think people in Brighton need pay phones!

Well, it is Brighton :-p If you're there, you're expected to have more money than you know what to do with :-p

Pay phones will inevitably be less and less common as mobile phones become more prevalent and (hopefully) affordable.

though with the current economic crisis, there may well be a downturn :-p

I guess next time this happens you can ring after hours. A lot of places have an answering service. We learn.

Interesting.
I would have taken the opposite assumption (that you should call during lunch if you are looking for work).
Then again, I am working full-time, so I wouldn't have much opportunity outside of work hours.
