22 [Accidental Video]

[The view that comes over the feed is set at what's practically a Dutch angle, an indication that the PCD recording has been cast on its side. It's a little disorienting at first, but there are a few key aspects of the scene that can be noted, even in this condition

[Spike, of course, has picked up her accidental video post and has taken no time in answering. He speaks into the video feed with a stern concern.]

Where are you?

[When she hears that familiar voice, there's some rustling of the PCD (as she's presumably reaching for it), before her face appears. Her eyes are staring blearily into the camera. She's too shaken, too... preoccupied to try to fight him on this. At least for the moment. There's no verbal response. Just a set of coordinates.]

I FAIL AT BEING PROMPT THIS WEEK!

[spiegel_bop]

Hold on.
[His response is a brisk, short one, uttered just before he shuts off the feed and maps the coordinates. It's only a matter of minutes before he makes it to her side.

[Placing his hands on her shoulders firmly, he looks into her eyes.]

What happened, Faye?

Pfft. You had better things to do. GOD. XD

[She doesn't react to his touch, and she doesn't give him an answer. No, she can't trust herself to speech at the moment, and even if she could, she wouldn't know how to describe what just happened. His gaze on her is too much. Partially to avoid his eyes, she shifts away, moving her head slightly in the direction of Fran's corpse lying nearby.]

Faye? Faye, what is it?

[All that blood... Usagi's eyes widen with a terrible thought. She quickly goes from concerned to full-out worried.]

Faye, you weren't bitten, were you? Tell me you weren't! If you were, stay right there! I'll come to help!

[She'll come anyway once she sees Faye wobble.]

Listen, I'm coming. I'll help you get home.

[Normally, Faye would stubbornly refuse the help. An injury like this was nothing; she could work through it. She's been through worse, really. But it's the context of the situation, what she's just had to do....

When she picks up her PCD, she simply nods her acknowledgement to Usagi. As she does, the pain in her neck intensifies, and she hisses, scrunching her eyes tightly shut.]

Faye! [That's it, she's on her way.]

I need the coordinates!

[Usagi checks for the coordinates even as she's already running outside the clinic-

-exactly what she's been warned against. She doesn't slow her pace, but she sends a few messages to let people know where she'll be and what she's doing while she waits for Faye's reply.]

[Oh, yeah. Right. Coordinates. In her current state, the thought hadn't occurred to her. Bleary-eyed, she takes a few moments to turn the PCD around to find the button. You'd think she'd have it memorized by now, but she's not thinking so clearly.]

[Of course not, he doesn't care at all. Ever.

When she picks up the PCD and comes into view, slight annoyance flashes across her face for a split second. But only that one second, because after that, she turns away from the camera and goes back to blankly staring at the corpse in front of her (which is now more visible with the PCD in its current position).]

[p0ker_alice]

[His words start to process, and the first movement from her in a while comes in the form of her head shaking.]

I'm fine.

[It's the mantra she'll continue to repeat, even if her voice is quiet and wavering.]

[Video] A little later...

[Flynn... Actually looks a little freaked. He's never seen a gun before- okay, never seen anything like what's just happened and it's really all he can do to keep himself from curling in a corner and hyperventilating, but... Faye's sort of a friend.]

Uh. Did you, uh... [He swallows awkwardly] Did you get some help?

[Video]

[By now, Faye has managed to get herself away from the scene with Usagi's help, and is now sitting in the clinic. Her leg still hurts like hell, but at least she isn't walking on it anymore.

When she hears Flynn's voice, she grabs her PCD and looks into it. Her eyes are still blank, but now they look exhausted as well. Though she doesn't say anything, she answers his question with a slight nod. She doesn't have the energy for much else.]

Good. That's... Good. [And he sort of sits there in silence for a second.]

...Are you gonna be okay? [Dumbest question, Flynn.]

[Sigh.]

I'm fine.

[But her quiet voice has a sort of... wavering quality to it, even now. It's not terribly convincing.]
