2008 in Review

Voting
Today is election day. I'm exciting since this is the first general election for President that I am genuinely pleased to vote for. Maryland being such a blue bastion, it is a somewhat futile gesture in the face of the electoral college, but I am honored to vote for John McCain, anyway ( Read more... ) -

My brother has signaled his intention to enlist in the Army Reserves as a Combat Engineer after he graduates in December. For those who don't know, a Combat Engineer is an Infantry grunt, who also carries 80 lbs in tools and explosives into combat ( Read more... ) -
Debates and Books
I watched the debate last night. It was good and lively. Senator Obama was consistent, but not exciting. Senator McCain was lively, but I felt he held back on a couple key questions that I feel could have been grand slams for him, such as the "what will you ask of Americans to get us out of the crisis ( Read more... ) -
