Star Trek questions
Seen it, loved it! But no time to check out communities'n'stuff for a while. Which leaves me with 2 burning questions.
1. If you were going to destroy a planet by creating a black hole inside it, why would you need to drill all the way down to the core? (Other than just so you could show off the cool CGI on your Enormous Drill Bit of Doom TM.) Would a black hole dropped on the surface not eat its own way down?
2. Anyone younger than Kirk was born into the reboot universe, right? Does anyone else really wish the Russian teleport genius with the Outrageous Accent TM was called Pavla Chekovna? (Feel free to correct my ignorance of Russian naming rules--the idea I'm trying to get across is that I think it would've been really cool to make the new Chekov a girl.)

3. Why was oldSpock still hanging around on the polar bear infested ice planet if there was a perfectly good starfleet base in easy walking distance?
