Took a short bike ride up to the Northwestern Campus in Evanston and back....to clear my mind mainly. I guess it worked as my worries and troubles were replaced by fragments of the people and places I briskly rode past...

• Smiling cops watching me turn left and signal like a dork.
  
• Beach walkers wearing Tigger sweatshirts without irony (love this)

I took a bike ride with my roommate last week and only for a few blocks, but we both remarked on how it made us feel more human somehow.

totally...i think the bicycle wlll be my key to settling in the city. i know it sounds like hyperbole but the feeling is that strong.
