Yesterday when I was walking home around Hermitage and Winnemac, a newer Chrystler rolled by with the stereo pumping out a full-on Norteño cover version of "Hotel California". That was 10 seconds of heaven!

Are you sure it was norteño? The Gipsy Kings have a pretty popular cover of HC and it could have been that version.

Perhaps! Does that one have accordions?

Yes. But I'm not certain how prominent they are in their HC cover. It's completely possible it WASN'T the Gipsy Kings, as HC has been covered by tons of people, but theirs is a really good version.

on Damen yesterday afternoon a dumpy pickup truck with two middle-aged men in it stopped at a light and had "Funky Town" BLARING. By golly, it was enough to make me do a literal lol.
