Our lives can be adventures with what we ARE ready for, and know about.
We are ready for different things at different times in our lives.

"Only the day dawns for which we are awake" may make one feel inadaquate for not being ready for everything in the world.

I prefer "When the pupil is ready, the Teacher appears."
