lacking in moral highground

Dan's rules with ex's (ex partners and ex friends) and social media is simple, if it's becomes clear that you're not going to be friends, cut them, completely. Don't look back, don't have any second thoughts and most of all *never* EVER look at their latest updates to see how their doing...... there's just no point, and it just makes you look ( Read more... )

That first ATP looks dreadful. I'm sure I read somewhere that the main songwriter from CSS left a year or so ago due to the other members "music incompetence".

The Deerhunter one looks alright, though I'm being swayed by the Ghost Box thing more than anything.

The thing I always said about returning to camber was that the fact that, as the ATP punters had grown up by 10 years and become accostemed to comfort, they wouldn't stand for it. The line up for the first ATP I saw as I direct (and clever) response - i.e. do a festival with bands what the kids like playing, so that the kids come and don't care about the scumminess of the venue.

Only problem there is than, when you're not in touch with what the kids like, you can't book bands what the kids like.

I am VERY glad this has failed - I did fear for a while they were going to be going from strength to strength, also if ATP cancel or postpone it their reputation is totally fucked - so they can't.

The deerhunter one seemed odd - they just never seemed famous enough or well reguarded enough to be able to draw enough people to ATP. But judging by Barry Hogan's idea that booking bands was like betting on greyhounds.............. again I hope they loose.

Being banckrupt again by the end of summer 2014 if you as me - in the UK at least

The Deerhunter thing is a bit dullard hipster heaven, you've got stuff like Panda Bear, Pere Ubu and co. Breeders doing Last Splash and Tom Tom Club will get some people in as well. It'll probably do alrightish. Hell, if I can get a posse together I might end up going as there's about four or five things I wouldn't mind seeing.

well I was 1 question away from winning tickets to the deerhunter thing

Here's the question though - if the TVOTR atp gets postponed/cancelled last minute - would you be happy buying tickets for the deerhunter one - seeing as that appears to have sold a similar number of tickets to the other one?

Not sure how CSS count as one of the headliners when they're ninth down on the bill.

The rest of the line-up looks alright, in that I've heard of half of the people playing but have no interest in them, par for the course for ATP then.

fair point - in the adverts in the programmes for the national ATP, CSS were described as one of the headliners - obviously this might have changed - and obvoiously they never said they were headlining the main stage

Could be they didn't get enough response so moved things around.

I really like CSS myself, but not sure I'd go to a festival just to see them.
