Can I recommend flapjacks for getting through the wall? I was sick of the sight of them after the D&D last year but they have a great balance of slow and fast release fuel.
Even though I'm not naturally an early riser, I usually find it easier to get up when there's a big task or event to get up for, because once the alarm goes off I'm awake and thinking about it and want to get on and engage with it.
Tyre levers and a spare inner tube don't represent a lot of weight, do they? Do you have something like a saddle-post bag to store them in? And also, drinking something like diluted fruit juice rather than water can help keep some calories coming in, as well as allegedly being easier for your stomach to absorb.
