Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I cried like a baby after I read the ending, but yes, it is an absolute cliche and that is why snobby literati like John will turn his nose up at it.

Like, the exact same plotline (though rendered in a more sophisticated fashion) has been dealt with in countless SS/HG fics. I must applaud Niffenegger for pushing the boundaries with the almost pedo overtones of Henry in his 40s getting seduced by teenager Claire, but it's still disgusting.

And the sex scenes - have you ever read anything so vulgar, so base? No, don't answer that, I know you have. And I have too. Just not in a published book that is classified as high literature.

well, the sex scene's understandable, since Clare said the reason why she married Henry is because he's 'very, very good in bed'.

and i thought you like the whole pedo thing? *remembers all those pedophiliac pieces you memtioned before*

The sex may have been good, but the writing during those parts sure wasn't.

Thus my "vulgar...base..." comment.

Teehee, how ironic that I was commenting on another person's writing. I meant "weren't", not "wasn't".

and OMG Rachel and Eric are totally cute together.

maybe i'll watch it for the second time with you, so i'd know what'll happen in the movie and prevent myself from crying too much.
