I want to be around my Indie friends. The ones I can understand, and who understand me. The ones who don't see my personal opinion as something crazy or my way of life as something wrong. I want to be able to talk about the things of the universe, or just laugh and party carelessly... with peoploe who are just mutually on the same level. I want to ( Read more... )

Take notes from Ray. He and I see so differently on these things and yet we can both keep a fairly civil discussion because he doesn't care what the other guy thinks and he doesn't act like he does, either.

Indeed. Im usually good at that. I don't know what was up that night. Ive been a little on edge. Im sorry. I mean ... i don't care what "people" as a vauge concept think about me... but you are my buddy, and one of my only close friends, so I do care what you think. Deep down I do... and every now and then something like that'll surface. But it's no big deal man.

I was writing last night asking "Is it possible to be around people and still feel alone?" In a strange way, your entry made me feel less alone.

There's a mindset associated with music. "Indie Kids" look deeper than whats put right in front of their nose to find something deep, full of talent, and slightly obscure in the most amazing way. That mindset often bleeds into other areas. Trying to look deeper into things than they appear to find beauty in obscurity. Not all kids I know who listen to Indie are like that... but they sure acted alot closer. In any case it just so happens that they were the kind of people I could talk to and just thought as close to the same way as I do about stuff. Music affects alot of psychology and kids who like the same music are either looking for the same thing to relate to, or have found the same point of view to appreciate and enjoy and repeat in their heads all day. And sorry, but I consider you one of those people. Don't think to much of the classification though, cause I'm sure it will seem like im belittling your completely unique awesomeness, and in no way am I or will I ever try that. :)
