One more thing that's been super stressing me out! I got jury summons for the month of October. I sent in a request to be excused, but I super worried that they'll decline and I'll wind up getting picked for the first jury and the trial will go on for months and my new business will die, and I wont be able to go back to teaching anything else

I'm sure they'll excuse you. If they don't that permits you legal grounds to file a law suit since they were responsible for the failure of your business. So, if they don't give in, ya can grab 'em by the balls and squeeze compensation out of th... hmmm... that analagy has always had a bad sound to it, wouldn't you agree? lol

If they reject your claim, just act all crazy, or like you've already made up your mind, or something when they actually choose the jury.
