What: House has been avoidng Cuddy.
When: Friday, 14th April, 2006. About 2 in the afternoon.

Cuddy signed off on another purchasing request and set it aside. She stood up to stretch, having spent far too many hours that week trapped behind her desk.

The resident computer geek had finally gotten around to her on Wednesday and how embarassing had that been, telling him to track down her on-line Romeo. She almost hadn't gone through with it. She felt a little guilty checking up on the mystery man to begin with, but what had been intriguing in the beginning was now simply getting old. She was getting old and she didn't want to waste any more time playing games. She believed--wanted to believe--that if they stopped worrying about trying to impress each other and gave themselves a chance to get to know each other, it might actually work out. House snapped his head in the direction of the door when he heard it open, and the moment he saw Cuddy standing there he felt his stomach instantly tighten. Oh, crap. He fixed his eyes on her, the pause that had filled the air feeling highly uncomfortable to House all of the sudden ( ... )

"Oh, I don't think so. Not this time." Cuddy threw her arm out to the side and braced her hand against the door frame, physically blocking House's escape route. No way she was going to let him waltz off, leaving her to soothe the feathers he'd ruffled. Not to mention the fact that if she got stuck with an irate patient, he'd have time to find a new hiding place or an excuse to avoid her questions.

Cuddy glanced from House back to the patient. She had only House's comment about the patient's talking and the husband's sex drive to go on, and frankly that was more than she wanted to know.

"Mrs.... Ma'am, if your husband is having a problem with sexual function, I would strongly urge him to see a doctor himself. There are a lot of physical factors that can cause dysfunction, and as good a physician as Dr. House is, not even he can make a diagnosis second-hand. Your husband really should get checked out ( ... )

House made an irritated noise at the back of his throat when Cuddy blocked his path and gave her an equally irritated look. Of course, Cuddy had to be the voice of reason for his annoying patient, there were a lot of factors that could cause dysfuntion, blah blah blah. In fact, House turned his eyes ceiling-ward and mouthed 'blah blah blah' as Cuddy spoke. He was trying to be flippant when what he really wanted was to escape from Cuddy's proximity ( ... )
