Glad to hear the news on your father. If it's a pinched nerve in his back, that's a pretty common surgery (my mom almost had that done), but he'll definitely appreciate you being there during recovery. I wish him and you the best!
Thanks Stage! It's good to hear that the operation is common and low risk. Hopefully my father will have no problems getting back to life without the pain he has now.
Crap! I just got caught up on LJ today, since I've been on vacation in NS. That really sucks that you won't be there and it won't be the same without you *snugs* I wish your father the best with his procedure and he'll be feeling better in no time, I bet.
*hugs* Thank Wolfus! I and everyone else assumes that he'll be fine rather quickly. Although the doctors want my father to move around after the operation, they've put a 2 to 5 lbs limit on what he can lift. I suspect that will make life a bit more difficult for him, post-op.
As for FurFright, I'll consider this one of life's road bumps that doesn't happen often and be back there for next year. On an oddly lucky note, it seems I'm coming down with the flu. Right now it's just soreness and a sore throat, but it could mutate to sinus issues and coughing later. Probably best not to be at FurFright with the flu.
I hope your father gets well soon, I'll keep my paws crossed for him.
Well hopefully we'll see you there next year, I'd wear spandex in your honor but I'm afraid me in spandex doesn't honor any one...... frighten yes, humor yes......... Honor.. yeah not so much.
Glad your dad expects no complications. Sorry you won't be heading to your fuzzle event! I've yet to go to any apart from Furnal and Condition. Maybe Anthro next year! *hugs*
He should be fine overall, with the usual pains associated with post-op. The sucky part for him will be the limitation of what he can lift after the surgery, which is somewhere between 2 to 5 lbs max.
As for the con, I'll aim to make it next year. This year is a special situation which I doubt will happen next year.
Also, as odd as it may sound, the feeling between a Canadian furry cons and U.S. furry cons is very different to me. Even though we're just a mere boarder line apart, furries in the U.S. are different than furries in Canada. I suspect AC will be quite a different experience for you. Luckily for you, AC is less than a 5 hour drive away, not including boarder wait times.
