Exactly! Which is why Ruby's actions weren't unexpected to me. There was nothing on the show to make us think there was anything beyond that (except the blood drinking, that is XD).

Ack, I loved Sam/Ruby, and still do. It was so fucked up and manipulative, and they were never TRU WUB or anything, but in Heaven and Hell the look on her face when she watched over him sleeping sort of made me believe she loved him as much as a demon was able to. After the reveal, it seemed to me that she wanted Sam to fall in line with her. It's kind of twistedly tragic, and I love this mix because it's so all about that. *g* Definitely snagged -- thanks!
