Funny. I'm flying into Orange County Friday night (late -- don't get in til 10 pm). I'm going to Gen Con Saturday and Sunday.

Are you flying back or driving?

I can probably call you to say hi.

I'm flying both ways. I'm not even sure where I'm staying Friday night yet but I'm staying at my parents' in Long Beach Saturday night. I'm working a ConQuest booth both Sat & Sun.

Call me from Das Bunker while they're playing something by Depeche Mode. ;) :P

Engineering conference? I'm intrigued. You have to let me know how high the geek factor is. Oh, and I want to know if they drink a lot. I know librarians sure do, so I wouldn't be surprised if the engineers do too. Assuming they're not all socially akward and afraid to go to the bar (I'm sorry! I have stereotype issues with engineers.)

Actually most engineers that I know have no geek factor. Yeah I've found it hard to believe all these years. They are usually heavy into watching sports and make fun of real geeks. I think they've chosen their career based on their family connections that are engineers themselves. There was one guy who was bragging about how he bought an entire season for some team on cable, "...175 games...." I know there are a few that are into sci-fi and such, but they don't openly show it. I think my Competitive Robotics Club is the only place were I don't hear about last nights game. The one thing about geek engineers is that when you do encounter one, they are Super Geeks.

Hmm, I don't believe you! Or maybe I just know a different subsection of engineers... from all over the country... who are mostly pretty darn geeky...

So, how was it?

It was pretty good. Sorry, I'm too tired to write more.
