For some reason I found this comment on slashdot very amusing:

In the 80s, it was actually quite common for bands to come over to your house, if you were a kid. The way it worked was, if your dad always yelled at you and wouldn't let you listen to a particular hair band, the band would come over to your house, smash through the door, trash the ( Read more... )

wes... i'm hurt. i could swear that matt and i talked about that ALL the time. in fact, i could swear that one time, after listening to one anton maiden, matt said "i wanna ROCK" and then i screamed "ROCK!!!" and then dee snyder and the rest of twisted sister kicked in the front door and started totally rocking out in a serious and deadly fashion. and then i ran into my room and plopped down onto my bed, looking up at the ceiling... and quiet riot (with the reanimated corpse of one randy rhodes) broke through our side door and started rockin out. and then there was like... a battle between twisted sister and quiet riot and they started totally wailing on their guitars and dee snider's head totally exploded! and then you and i looked at each other and screamed "SWEET!!!" and then like... high fived. i can't believe you don't remember that. *sigh*

I just want to know where all those dancing girls went. I mean one minute Jays room was a sultry den of vixens and the next it was back to a smelly dominion of dork.

ugh... i had almost forgotten that smell... rancid hotdogs and athlete's foot. thanks for reminding me, jerk. it does the beg the question where they went, though. were they overcome with the fumes, perhaps?

the flatulance! Not hilarious loud flatulance, but silent, secret, quite smelly flatulance. Usually a loud, prolonged, and messy bathroom visit would follow.

I think I'm going to vomit up my coffee now...

The greatest thing about those video is it pretty much made the parents totally right. Because once that band left "Billy" was in some pretty deep shit for what Twisted Sister did to the yard.

i know... i love rockin and rollin just like the next guy, but whatever happened to respect for other peoples property? when i'm playin some hot lix on my axe (guitar to the laymen), i don't feel the need to kick over the ethan allen coffe table or smash through the charming vase from ikea. i simply bob my head to and fro, keeping with the beat. or maybe make a face like i'm sort of in pain, but enjoying it. and then i might stick my tongue and like... wag it. like a doggie. but never did the concept of spray painting "i like asses" on my parents bedroom wall come into play. nor did riding a motorcycle through the living room or breaking dishes over some melvin's head. i like to rock, man. no doubt there. i like to walk and pump my fist, just like one steve perry. but i do not like to take that pumpin fist and drive it through the new drywall of my parent's sitting room, or wear a flaming codpiece as i let loose with a blistering guitar solo. i am responsible with my rockitude (rockin attitude, to the commoner). so i ( ... )
