I wonder what it's like to think war is a good thing...

Probably similar to thinking that Bush is a great president. Or that Saddam was a serious threat to the world. Or that Saddam was harboring Al-Qaida. Maybe this train of thought is similar to that of this guy:

My friend, Mohammed told me he was out canvassing at one house and said (not telling his name) "I'm with the Dave Ross for Congress campaign and we'd like..... The guy interrupted him, by saying "How fast can you run?" He said, "I don't understand." They guys said, "You better run fast and get off my property or I'm going to shoot you!" I wonder if he has some of those assault weapons that Bush allowed people to purchase, by letting the ban expire? I guess this is Bush's way of MAKING AMERICA SAFER. Hmmmmm.

That was written by a family friend, Larry Bridges, who was a democratic delegate and worked hard canvassing neighborhoods, sometimes with his kids, trying to expel this type of idiocity and get Kerry elected to office.

I've been meaning to ask - what's your icon from?

But the scary thing is people actually think that way. And I want to know what that's like, because I'm trying so goddamn hard to understand the other side and I CAN'T FUCKING DO IT. >_< I just see the other side as ignorant and if not ignorant than just stupid, and I know that's exactly how they see my opinions and I can't reconcile the difference! Blah.
It's from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Good movie. =)

Not a good answer, but still... (be forewarned: I unintentionally wrote an essay here... more like ramblings)

An old roommate of mine (Leo) was like that. He was very pro-war. I don't know if he is now or not, but around the time that Bush was threatening to declare war on Iraq, he was eager to see us invade the country. In fact, I remember driving down I-5 South at the 45th St bridge in the U district, and there were people promoting the invasion to all the I-5 passers-by. He responded by honking and yelling "Fuck eye-rack!" (italics = additional ignorance ( ... )

War use to be good because people thought it would expand their own beliefs (Crusades) not just religion. Though this is generalizing. People might think we're helping them. Like heck if we win this war, then they'll be like a small america, and well duh americans are awesome!

Pretty conceded view point.

Another would be even the more greedy of people, that just want everything for themselves, they might see a way to make evil cash off this, or something.

But I like option one :-D because all the people that say yes to the war are like yea! lets liberate em'! They'll be better then!

War is good! Just trust me on that one.
Because I'm a zombie set to believe it's an okay thing!

That's quite a noble quest. I'm proud.
