aka the cutest dog that ever walked the Shatterdome.

He misses his master. Herc does his best to shower Max with love. I don't even know what this prompt is, man, but I'm really interested in what's going to happen to that dog.

He waited by the entrance to home because he was a good dog. He always waited for Master, every time he went out on the loud big machine, that he referred to as "Striker Yoo-Ree-Kah". It wasn't a pleasant job to wait like this, but he was a good dog, so he was happy to do it. The room itself was too high-pitched for his ears, the smells from the machines too pronounced and alien and bizarre, but every time it would be worth it to see his Master ( ... )

This hurts so bad.

When Grandpa looked at him as he held out his paw, suddenly covering his face with his hand and holding back tears, Max decided to not "shake" again.

Not until Master came back.

Max is never going to shake again.

Uh. Sort of a fill? I got a bit sidetracked and ended up making this more of Max's POV of Herc (though there are plenty of Max feelings anyway) and also way longer than I expected, haha, but I hope you still enjoy it anyway ( ... )

Some days afterwards, Max is in the young man's bed again - as he often is in the afternoon - sniffling and snuggling and wondering when the young man will come back. It's why the old man's so sad and angry all the time; he just misses his pup ( ... )
