Why did I sign up for NaNoWriMo again?

It can be done. Set aside 2 hours per day, and write during those two hours. As long as you are disciplined and regular about it, it's not all that hard.

(It becomes hard when you fall behind, so make a conscious effort to get off to a good start).

Whatever you do write. Even if it's terrible. Even if it's interviewing your character or writing about how much you hate your novel.

Okay, that works. I don't have to include the wordcount in the novel wordcount if it's not going in the final edition, I guess. (That was really what stopped me from doing that kind of thing in '09, and that meant that when I hit a plothole I got completely stuck and stopped writing at all.)

if you get stuck perhaps you can leap to another viewpoint/character, another location, or another point in time (flashback/flashforward) and write from there for a while? ... then return (or not!) when you have figured out how to get unstuck ... consider the Arabian Nights, or Rashomon ... ((btw, love the term "plothole" but my spell autocorrector makes it hard for me to type it!)) ... ^z

That's another thing I was trying - I have a super-vague outline for the story in my head, so I can skip ahead and write scenes out of sequence if need be.
