Another thing that makes my birthday this year a little different is the fact that my dear grandmother passed away last winter. Yesterday would have been her 89th birthday. Her birthday has always been like some sort of starting point of my own celebrations. I have always spent some time at her place on her birthday, eating cake and singing and

Yea, I don't really get all gung ho about my bday's anymore either. I get more excited about holidays, for Alexander's sake, because he helps me relive what it's like as a child to experience Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and bdays. :)

We spend a lot of time playing in the leaves now, or in puddles when it's raining.
