Vinegar cucumbers

Had this last night at MIL's house. This is the kind of supper where you ask for the cornbread and someone skewers a piece with a fork and hands it to you. these actually turned out a bit sweeter than I would have them, but the onion is so sweet it's really quite good.

My family recipe doesn't use any sugar, but it does have black pepper. Mmm, you are making me so hungry for these.

Try some dried dill in there too -- ancestral recipes for both my family, and Ed's.

I have seen the recipes and I have longed to once again appreciate the benefits of dill (and there are lots). But one of the few things my mother did that put me off of a foodstuff was put dill on carrots. I don't know why, but that never sat well with me. To this day, I can neither eat cooked carrots nor dill.
