Alias

Sep 30, 2008 11:37

I'm currently in a short hiatus from reading books (I'm actually waiting for a bunch of favorite author's books to come out), and I decided that - instead of re-reading some old books, like I usually do - I'd watch an old TV series.

I had Alias on my HD since forever so I decided to give it a try and, well, I rather like it ( Read more... )

Oh Alias, how I miss you!

Did you ever watch La Femme Nikita?

Ok...tell me the ending is not crappy...please?
I can't stand to watch another good show with a shitty ending... :(

Did you ever watch La Femme Nikita?

Just bits and pieces when I still used to watch TV (now I just download everything)...and I did watch the original movie (the French one, not the American remake). It seemed very good, but to really get into it I should probably watch it from the beginning, right?

Considering all the weird casting and behind-the-scenes stuff going on I could live with the ending. There was one season I didn't really like - the second to last.

I loved the French movie. The American one was okay, I guess. You can actually watch the TV show by itself. I fell in love with Peta Wilson and was seriously crushing on her.

Good, that's good. :D

Is it still on?

I fell in love with Peta Wilson and was seriously crushing on her.

I know, she's definitely very, very pretty! :x

Alias is beyond awesome. I marathoned the show after S3 and watched the last 2 seasons like a normal person, well - kinda. The end of S4 broke my soul and screwed with my mentality so bad that I was in a state of shock and boycotted half of S5 - but, bygones. I won't spoil you but you will probably have an easier time of it since you don't have to wait threw a hiatus.

Jennifer Garner as Sydney is beyond awesome. Check out her Dad's left ear - my husband pointed it out to me while we were marathoning the first season and he forever became known as 'One Big Ear' to us - it's spooky. And my personal love for Michael Vaughn (and Michael Vartan)holds literally no bounds. Sydney and Vaughn are one of my ships that I'll always hold a great love for.

OMG. :(( :(( :((
It gets better in the end, right?

I shall be sure to watch the end of S4 and the beginning of S5 in the same day...*angsts already*

She truly is. I'd pay big bucks to have her body, and she's definitely an awesome actress. :x.x:x

Yeah...he's not really my type, but he's v.v.v. sweet and he and Sydney are definitely good together. (I kinda liked Will, too...but I guess he's more a BFF figure).

Yes, it does have a happy ending - as in the end of the show. But the I refer to the end of S4 as the greatest mindfuck of all time. But since you aren't the Vaughn nut I am, it might not destroy you like it did me. I was literally in a hysterical mess and had to call a friend across the country and babble and cry. So... yeah. My worst fandom moment ever. (Once you get past there you I could link you for the whole story or you could check out my lj tags - me and said friend still talk about that night -to get the whole story)

I remember hearing and seeing (on dvd extras) that Jennifer Garner worked out like 5 hours a day 6 days a week or something insane like that. And her and Vartan dated from like mid-S2 threw right before they started shooting S4.

I like Will just fine and I love Sark - did you realize that when he was started doing Alias he (real name is escaping me) was only like 19 when he started on Alias and is an American. He is fabulous.

Eh, I'd love that! I'll probably be on "Alias overload" for a while... ;-)

This reminds me I have to search for the DVD extras. :-)
Also, OMG she is clearly insane...but I must admit that seeing her body, all that hard work definitely payed off.

He is!! I didn't particularly like him on Heroes (which I watched first), but on Alias he was awesome. :D

I am just in the middle of watching Alias for the first time as well, and I also like it. It's just not as surprising and breathtaking as a Whedon show, IMHO. But it's enjoyable and quite interesting. Even though I can see through most of their "plot twists".

Eeeeee! I think you can't really compare Alias with Buffy/Angel (I haven't watched any other Whedon's shows)...Joss' writing is just too good/different/original.
Still, Alias is good in its own way and the actors are all quite awesome.

It's just that everyone raved about Alias a lot and I guess I had too high expectations. But Alias is still a fun show to watch. And there is quite a suspense, it's good to watch it back-to-back, those cliffhangers are evol!

At least there will be another Whedon show out in January! Looking forward to that.
