Jason had been about to come back in anyway. He hadn't exactly seen her until he was actually paddling back in (he'd had to go down to avoid wiping out anyway).

Once he hit the beach, he grinned over at her. "Starting to think Jake scared you off from anything involving surfing, or me."

"I reckon he just wanted to keep me all to himself, can't blame him of course," she grinned back. "You looked brill out there just now."

"If I was him, I'd probably do the same thing," he smirked before standing his board up in the sand.

"Thanks. I about killed it. Waves have been choppy since that storm." Jason looked at her carefully for a second. "And you have no idea what that means to anything, do you?"
