Question to ask if those of you have iPods

I'm still getting use to my iPod that I got for christmas and I have 486 on my iPod right now and I'm trying to delete some songs off of there cause there's christmas songs and some other on there that I'm trying to get off of there so I can make new ones. Mine holds up to 500 songs on there and I picked out 500 and I'm trying to figure this out

I usually just format my iPod and then just put the new songs on that way.
