Ok so I know we all go through our fluffy stages, and that we have to be patient with them so as not to break or hurt them (or even worse push them further it their fantasy world). I swear to god though, their attracted to me. The guy with shadow acts just like a kid who hung out with my group of friends when I first moved to America. Here it is ( Read more... )

**snicker**

Delusional, anyone?

Kudos for not going postal on this person. Believe me, you're not alone.

And I hope that girl wasn't scared off - it would be a shame to lose someone who would really contribute to the community.

Developmentally, teens reach out to anything not standard/sociologically normal/parentally influenced in order to establish their own identity. That's the main draw for so many to play around with magick or wicca or whathaveyou. Yes, well I'm going to use my big stick as a fishing pole, to hopefully get the girl out of it. Their all in their late teens.

Although David (someone who lives near me) is in his mid-20's and still acts like that...

thanks for the insight! I'll be sure to be careful.

Sure by the psychological side of things the behaviour may have at least some sensible basis - namely mental illness, but spiritually speaking? Uuurgh. I'm actually finding all this recent upsurge of fluffiness really embarrassing. It's painful to read it. I'm by no means saying that everyone must be reconstructionist - just not painful, please.
The social and psychological sides of growth, obviously, make sense and the search for identity is valid, but why does everyone pick on Paganism? You don't see a young Muslim in a chat room saying they're channelling Allah and have to leave the virtual room because they're possessed. Why witchcraft? It makes me cringe.
Anyone using “netspeak” should be immediately slapped.
