Hey, that's fantastic :D judging by the sale on this place, even if it's chain free with a first time buyer, you're likely to be looking at upwards of three months. So I wouldn't book the movers just yet! You'll also want to decorate before you move in because lord knows it'll never get done once you're in *looks mournfully at textured living room walls*

it is chain free! :D They're optimistic that three months is the maximum, could be much less. Here's hoping!

Also, probably can't afford to decorate before we move. We'll make do and mend till we can work out precisely what we want everywhere.

I can tell you from experience that it is absolutely worth shelling out a little for a few cans of paint and at least putting a new colour on the walls before you move in. Does wonders to make it feel like home. I'm always happy to volunteer as a paint on walls putter onner.

Not the murder house, no. But we still absolutely refuse to decorate in the first 6 months! If it doesn't have magnolia walls, it won't feel like any home we've had in the past 6 years!
