It's certainly not a neo-pagan program, but I don't know of anyone that could argue that it's good, solid children's entertainment. And it's Muppets. *sigh* the Gods were kind when they gave us Jim Henson, verily.

My daughter has had similar experiences and has pretty much seamlessly integrated EVERYTHING into her own hodge podge of religiosity. For example, her very Pentacostal (sp) grandmother explained Heaven to her since her Granddad is there and so my little one decided that he is now the God of Trucks (he was a diesel mechanic) and she named her monarch caterpiller Jesus. Which led to the hilarious shouting of "Bye Jesus Holmes! Fly free!"
I, too, would be a little more worried about the dismissal of your feelings. While the gift was undoubtedly well-intended, your boyfriend should have tried to understand, or at least accept, your opinion.
