Dates and Dating - The Other Type

How important are compatible beliefs and practices in finding a partner? Would you consider a relationship with someone of a vastly different belief system from you? What about dating?

How different would someone's beliefs and/or practices have to be to become unacceptable to you in a relationship?

Well me and my sweetie are both pagan (well, pantheists if you wanna get down to it) so we're good there. But in general I think really as long as you respect each other's beliefs a relationship would work fine if you had differing religions or spiritual traditions.

That being so though, I'm not sure I myself could pull off being with a Christian. I tried that once and even though the person was open and appeared to be supportive of my beliefs at first, it went the other way after awhile :( Not the entire reason we broke up but a good part of it...

I'm actually very shy about my beliefs, and unaccustomed to having any belief system in general. Of late I've had so many problems with day to day life that I have little thought to spare to spiritual matters that do not involve the 'day-to-day' bits of my belief system (the gods are all well and good, but they don't tell me how to live--the Tao, however, does). Even then it's difficult, with all the... well, anyway ( ... )
