In modern neo-pagan religions well known goods such as Thor, Zeus, Bridget, and Cernunnos get a lot of attention but these famous deities are only a small portion of the deities and spirits ancient pagans venerated.

I work with the West African spider deity Anansi. I first heard of Anansi as Grandmother spider, the story weaver, when we had an African story teller visit my primary school as a kid and being absolutely in love with spiders the story stuck... oddly enough when I rediscovered Anansi as an adult it was a male trickster deity.

Still love spiders funnily enough.

Was it the one where all the pictures were geometric shapes? That version was one of my favorite childhood stories too.

We didn't have pictures or anything to work with, it was verbal telling with drums and things. It was pretty cool (Stuck in my mind anyway). He seems to traditionally be depicted very geometrically, but then West African art is traditionally very geometric in design so...

No idea.

I work solely with/for the lesser spirits, mainly local ones tied to the land (including the two that I am bound/tied to, kind of like a patron for lack of a better word). Any "deity" that I'm aware of are just stories as a part of my background rather than beings I interact with. They're in a distant land, from where my ancestors came from, so direct contact isn't ideal for me anyhow.

I work with the Penates, the Roman spirits who look over the household pantry. They help me keep food in the house and keep the roaches out.

I primarily work with a goddess that pretty much no one knows about. She's a daughter of Poseidon who was banished from the oceans to a river. That's pretty much all that she has let me tell of her story.
